Bilges are usually
a place in boats that most people avoid but we rather like JENAL's
because
Cleghorn Waring have design them to be a dry and clean place. There
two main bilge systems, one 2.5" bronze pump driven off the hydraulic
system with scavenge pipe-work to the main bilge and 4 x Rule 2000 24v auto
pumps for lighter duties. They will automatically switch on which is
beneficial when JENAL is left unattended. Cleghorn Waring have designed the complete fluid handling systems on JENAL using their range of Jabsco and Rule pumps plus the Hep20 plastic pipe system. The hot water system has been designed to have its own ring-main where the hot water is continually circulated through the calorifier, minimising wasted colder water draw-off when a hot tap is turned on. |

We don't know why but barge toilets are a constant area for
bargee bickering, maybe it is because there are so many types and options
available? We initially wanted to use 2 x conventional household toilets
with the addition of a macerator pumps until Alan realised that a
conventional cistern full of water is not a good idea in rough seas. Our
friends at Cleghorn Waring came to our rescue with their latest Jabsco 24v
electric deluxe flush 'luxury' toilets. They are near quite in
operation, use small amounts of water and have large bore non-clogging
flush-pump macerators. They are far from... 'bog-standard!' The domestic sink/shower waste is handled by 3 x Rule 800 24v drain tank kits (pictured right). They are gravity fed with a float switch that pumps the water overboard or diverted to the onboard waste tank. |
