The aft anchor winch. Positioned as best as one can and it has to be said, not the ideal place because it impedes traffic flow. Not badly but enough to make you think as you walk around it. It does look (very) period and traditional though. This is JENAL's emergency brake, if loss of power or steering happens, the chain is released and the drag anchor below plummets to the bottom. The polished stainless steel hand rails are still covered to protect them during construction as is the newly installed sun-deck teak flooring, covered in its original plywood template. The old brass and copper rear light is very traditional and sits atop of the step to the sundeck. It is illuminated by fibre optic cable and linked into the navigation circuit. |
