Picture the evolving wheelhouse, in particular the roof where Frits is
installing various electronic components. Far left and hanging from the
roof beam is the bracket to hold an all-in-one touch-screen PC, a multi
function tool, to not only do the obvious work of a computer but also
act as the music centre for this room. This has been aided by Alan's IT
wiz David who has designed a jukebox piece of software, to allow
wheelhouse guests to touch the screen and choose music tracks from 90
albums, as if operating a regular jukebox, sans money ;-) of course!
The bracket will allow the PC to fold up into the eventual overhead
console also housing the PC's external speakers.
The PC will aid navigation with PC Navigo software linked to the sat-nav
AIS vessel identification system, warning of any locally positioned
large barges in JENAL's vicinity. The PC will be connected to a
roof aerial to receive domestic radio stations.
The black box is the projector for lighting the 9 fibre optic ceiling
down-lighting when the roof insulation and wood paneling have been
installed.
