J&A's trusty Audi A2, once again was pressed into truck mode for their
October Maasbracht visit. Fully loaded inside with personal 'stuff'
for Jenal plus the roof rack brought their 2 bicycles and a rotary
clothes line which fits into the aft cast-iron sun-deck parasol stand.
Nearly everyone cycles in the Netherlands
because it is relatively easy, due to the country's flat terrain. J&A's bikes are
reasonably old and hopefully will not attract the pesky bike-thieves that
roam the more popular Dutch places.
J&A were hoping to spend some live-aboard
time on Jenal with this visit but the Webasto central heating
system that Chris Grant ably installed needed commissioning by a Webasto
specialist, plus the new gel traction batteries had not yet arrived. So
without heat and suitable cooking facilities due to the limited
shore-power feed, Chris and Diana Grant's barge ESME was the safe haven.
