Ship-builder issues started early on in 2014 with incorrectly
installed domestic sump and pump systems, not man enough for the job
intended. These were upgraded by 'A' to more powerful units with built-in
macerators. A belt & braces approach for long-term trouble free cruising.
In September as cooler weather approached 'A' decided to check the
Webasto heater system to see if all was well... it wasn't. A Webasto
specialist identified the problem, of water in the heaters exhaust system,
preventing it from firing up. The cause was another Ament
Metaalbewerking cock-up,
they had not made the exhaust outlet with a high enough swan-neck. 'A' had
it re-made with a much higher swan neck, as can be seen in the picture -
problem resolved.
