The
bow storage locker has always been a compromise design. Not too
large to steal internal living space but just large enough to house the
Silver Marine
RIB and the BMW R1200 GS bike (plus other odds-n-sods).
Here, we can see the result of its incarnation. Forward is the
regulation watertight bulkhead, attached to this will be the anchor
chain locker. This picture shows the winch mounting and a single anchor
aperture. Pending new regulations indicated a ship of JENAL's
size would need 2 bow anchors so Martie would have to re-fabricate this
area to accommodate both.
The forepeak locker
door is a large and weighty item so it is left off to aid the
fabricators. It will eventually be opened by hydraulic rams.
