From the start, Jenal had installed some sophisticated Navman
navigation equipment but time had moved on during the build and PC
software had improved. To the point where some of the early and expensive
ship nav products were more complex to use than their modern replacements.
A Dutch company called PC-Navigo introduced an easy to use inland
waterways PC programme so Jenal needed a place to put the computer and the
wheelhouse roof seemed the logical place. Mounted so that it could be
easily (strong biceps required) folded up and hidden from moored passers
by.
Dave Thornton, a friend of Alan's and a software wizard, designed
a Juke-Box PC software programme with over one thousand tracks on it.
Jenal guests can now select their music from 'ye old juke-box'
and have fun in the wheelhouse.
