Summer sun streaming through the wheelhouse windows motivated J&A to
obtain various quotes for wheelhouse blinds and all were in the mid €3,000
figure. Another trip to Ikea revealed suitable coffee-coloured blinds
which fitted dimensionally between the window frames and cost just 10% of
the quoted specialist prices.
The roof paneling was carefully cut away along its edges to sink
the blinds up into he ceiling. The reason was twofold, to reduce the
chances of blind interferences when the wheelhouse was lowered and to
visually interfere with the curved line of the period style arched window
frames.
