CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION - story page number thirty-nine
As mentioned previously, Benelli's sixes are inclined to run oil hot so to keep an eye both on oil temperature and pressure Alan installed 2 auxiliary gauges to the inside of the bikini fairing. These can be seen each side of the instrument cluster and easily read from the rider's seat. He also re-painted the instrument warning light indicators emblems and polished the 2 main and previously black instrument bezels to matching silver. Clear varnishing to help keep their luster. Note the unique Benelli / Moto Guzzi ignition key which resembles a turn-switch knob and has the underside key part pivoting closed when removed. The ignition switch was replaced for a later example and Alan re-made the keys to honour the original design.
