CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION - story page number forty-three
As outlined before, the addition of the oil cooler was a design challenge and Alan supplied this schematic to Mocal to assist them in making their Aeroquip oil hoses to the correct and snug fitting, required to keep appearances looking more like a touring road bike rather than an out-and-out NASCAR racer. The oil take-off sandwich plate was found to be the same as early Honda engines which is not surprising because it is Alan's view that Benelli asked Honda to design the basic engine case in 1970, leaving Benelli to engineer the light-weight and excellent internal components.
