The electrics have come in for further evolution with a digital gear selection indicator by Acumen Electronics and side-stand neutral by-pass relay to allow the engine to start on the side-stand but not in-gear. Alan had to make an aluminium disc to hold 6 magnets and attached it to the gearbox duplex chain sprocket. Its reader was mounted on another piece of alloy and hung from an oil pump stud. Consequently road speed is now compared to revs via the Sachse ignition pack. Once the set up procedure is followed, the dash mounted digital oblong gauge advises the gear selected. The neutral side-stand  relay override was a straight forward convertion. A simple automotive accessory relay bridges the side-stand power cable only when the neutral light is illuminated. This makes for easier starting of the Benelli, saving having to mount the 900 on the main stand each time to start it.
