In the meantime, away from the Ament factory, a company arranged to have the 6m steel mast made, after the aluminium one proved to be 'not-up-to-the-job. Here, it is being bench-tested (yard floor, actually) with a 375k weight and hydraulically driven off a diggers system. All proved to be excellent and up-to-the-job!

The largish looking bracket high on the right front of the mast is the removable mounting for the Navman radar with the forward lamp mount spikes, above it. The anchor lamp has yet to installed at the very top of the mast, so has the flag pole mounting. Once all the fabrication work is finished, the mast will go to Ament for painting and it's faux wood-finish effect.
