J&A's original plan was to sail JENAL to the UK and have our Biedermeier styled customized furniture installed there but needs have changed so Jan Ament agreed to assist us in Belgium. The 6 year old stored furniture was shipped to Kinrooi and instantly covered over to protect it. Each piece of the multitude of furniture pieces had been semi-disassembled by Andrew Varah's team, to aid installation into JENAL's hull via the removable skylight.

With such a time laps since Alan helped design the furniture, he was 'playing' with the biggest and most expensive jigsaw-puzzle he had ever encountered, in part due the death, a year earlier of the furniture maker, Andrew Varah.

Alan was aided by Bart, Dan and Tim who helped load, sort and assemble the cabinetry.  The biggest challenge of all, was getting the circular kitchen to actually fit the confines of the ship, even though it was previously designed to fit via the CAD drawings!
