Benelli Special looks like a hospital patient on a
Saline-drip. In actual fact it is a 1 litre remote fuel supply which
allows the bike to be started without the proper fuel tank in the way.
Enabling engine tuning to be carried out in an easier manor.
Alan used a
Morgan Carbtune to make balancing the 3 carburetors a simpler task and
then reverted to an old tried and tested method of fuel mixture settings
with the use of a Gunson Colourtune.
All went well but a small amount of
exhaust smoke indicated potential future issues.
You may notice Alan has retained the
900's bikini fairing as opposed to the true 750 being bare-breasted! At
his age he needed some comfort and the fairing wears its new colour
scheme quite well.
