When owning a small ship, you expect to have external water problems but not internal. The hull rust marks in these two pictures illustrate the long period we had flooding in the electrics room. To add to the issue, it was salt water coming from the water softener. Ament, in their plumbing wisdom, believed that each tranche of 20 + liters softened water, engineered by Kinetico to instantly exit down a 42mm diameter pipe could do the same but down a 12mm hose?
'A' tried differing 'Elastoplast' type solutions but in the end, the safest was to have this 27ltr stainless steel tank made to harvest the Kinetico softening process water, and allow the tanks internal bilge pump to steadily push it down the 12mm pipe to the outside the ship in its own time. The salty rust on the electrics room floor is due for a repaint and is on the 'roundtoit' list.
